Berkeley City dignitaries and Steamworks owners were on hand Monday June 6, 2016 for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Steamworks and our Grand re-Opening after the completion of the renovation of facilities inside Steamworks Berkeley. Berkeley City Councilmen Darryl Moore and Kriss Worthington welcomed everyone with speeches praising Steamworks long history of community involvement, dedication to Gay men’s health, and for being a force in promoting a sex positive attitude for Gay Men. Owners Rick Stokes and Ross Moore joined them to cut the ribbon.
Employees from the club and from the San Francisco Corporate office joined with owner Brooke Aird, Architects Barbara Winslow and Sean Brient from JSW/D Architects who designed the new spaces and lead contractor Henry Vila of Vila Construction for lunch and a 40th Anniversary cake.
Thanks to all the dedicated hard work from the staff at Steamworks Berkeley, the contractors and the design team for an amazing job well done.
